The franc is a rare pair
In Ukraine, USDT is usually exchanged for hryvnia or dollars. Francs are needed less often, mostly by people living or working in Switzerland. Since USDT/CHF is an uncommon pair, it pays to estimate the reference yourself and compare the manager’s quote against it.
The formula, no secrets
Take the USDT price in dollars, multiply it by the dollar/franc rate and subtract the exchange’s margin. A hypothetical example (round numbers, not today’s rate): the dollar at CHF 0.80, USDT at $1.000; then 1 USDT ≈ CHF 0.80, and 5,000 USDT ≈ CHF 4,000 before the margin. The margin covers the manual deal, delivering the currency and the risk that the rate moves mid-deal.
A bank shows a different figure because it adds its own spread on the dollar/franc pair and doesn’t buy USDT. A trading platform’s rate is for money already on the platform, without withdrawing francs. More in how exchange rates are set.
Five questions to ask before you send anything
- What is the rate for my amount, and how long does it hold?
- How and where will I receive the francs?
- How long will the deal take?
- What is the order of settlement: who sends what first?
- Which network — TRC20 or ERC20 — and which address do I send the USDT to?

What to prepare
USDT on TRC20 or ERC20 in a wallet you know how to use, plus a little of the network’s coin for the fee — TRX or ETH. For a large amount, keep in mind that the exchange may check where the coins came from, and the law may require documents.
